The MEU (SOC) pistol, (Maritime Expedition Unit, Special Operations Capability) officially designated M45 MEUSOC, it is a semi-automatic pistol. It is a variant of the M1911, and has been the standard sidearm for the United States Marine Corps Expeditionary Units Force Recognition Element since 1985. The enhanced M45A1 CQBP presents several changes to the original design of the M1911A1. Some of the features included are the 5-inch national combat external barrel, ambidextrous safety, the picatinny rail and the desert-colored cinnamon finish.
