It has a 8.5 cm stainless steel blade. It is highly cutting and easy to maintain. Its wooden handle perfectly fits the shape of the hand to make it easier and more comfortable to use. Its leather cord allows you to hold it to avoid losing it. The Virobloc security system allows the leaf to be locked in the open and closed position.

The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance.
The blade has an excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear), allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be re-sharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when it is in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).
The traditional Opinel leaf is the leaf called Yatagán. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with a raised tip. The blade is shaped according to an exclusive domed profile that guarantees the strength of the blade and allows effective sharpening.
The hornbeam comes from French farms. It is a white wood with little grain, ideal for applying colors without denaturing it. The varnished handle is protected from stains and moisture.
Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is found on all razors that close from No. 06 Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to the blocking of the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is already possible to close the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
