The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance.
The blade has an excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear), allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be re-sharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when it is in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).
The handle is made of polyamide with a fiberglass charge that guarantees excellent resistance to shocks and water. Includes two standard nozzles: flathead screwdriver (4mm screws) and Phillips screwdriver (3.5 to 5mm screws), as well as a magnetic nozzle holder at the end of the handle.
Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is found on all razors that close from No. 06 Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to the blocking of the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is already possible to close the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
